It was the 1997 and James Atkins Design were contracting with the now defunct 'New Media Factory' in Cambridge.
We were briefed on a series of intranet information sites for BP Exploration. This particular brief was for the West Africa Project. The design took its cue from the Ndebele african tribe. The Ndebele painted designs on the sides of their buildings and homes using strong, flat goemetric colours and bold outlines which translated well to a websafe palette of 216 colours (remember that?). This work was produced some months before the controversial British Airways' tail designs - one of which used a Ndebele design
At the time Internet Explorer 3.0 was starting to take on Netscape 3.0, and win. We worked on a Mac Powerbook 520c (one of the first PowerPCs) with an external monitor 14 inch monitor. OJ Simpson got off (or did he?) and the Guggenheim in Bilbao opened.BP Exploration
